What are JobLink Careers Centers?

The JobLink Career centers are user friendly facilities in our counties that provide job seekers, training/education seekers and employers access to career training and job placement services and also serve as a connection between businesses and qualified workers.

North Carolina is developing a system of JobLink Career Centers so people can make informed choices about their careers and businesses can make informed choices about their workforce needs.

In a JobLink Career Center customers comes first. By offering a wide range of service options from self-service to full-service. JobLink Career Centers offer comprehensive training and employment services to the community.

JobLink Career Centers make the best use of scarce resources while serving all citizens North Carolina Staff work together as a team to provide the most comprehensive and efficient workforce development system possible.

  • Job Listings (though America’s Job Bank and North Carolina’s Job Bank)
  • Job Placement
  • Work Registration
  • Labor Market Information
  • Career Information and Guidance
  • Assessment
  • Information about education and training opportunities
  • Unemployment insurance information
  • Filling for unemployment insurance claims
  • Resume preparation
  • Education and training assistance
  • Referral to other partner agency services

Local JobLink Career Center partners include:

  • Local Community College
  • Workforce Investment Act, Title I programs and services
    • Adult (an individual 18 years old or older)
    • Dislocated Worker (for an individual who lost her or his job)
    • Youth (ages 14 through 21)
  • Job corps (for youth)
  • Native American's Programs
  • Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker's Programs
  • Veterans' Programs
  • Employment Security Commission (public labor exchange and unemployment insurance assistance)
  • Vocational Rehabilitation
